Common questions
Pricing and Offers
Money questions first, because that's usually what's on your mind when a drain backs up.
Do prices change once you start?
No. The price we quote is the price you pay, agreed before work starts. If the job turns out bigger once we're under the house or down the drain, we tell you and agree the new price before we touch anything else. You never open an invoice with a price you didn't sign off on.
How do quotes work?
We look at the job on-site and give you a fixed price before we lift a spanner. The quote is free, with no obligation to book. You decide once you've seen the number, not before.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. It's a $0 call-out fee, whether we clear the blockage or just have a look. Free quotes come with that, so getting us out to Artarmon costs you nothing until you say go ahead.
How does the 10% seniors discount work?
Seniors get 10% off the job, and it stacks with the $50 off when you book online. Mention it when you call (02) 9139 8009 or book online and we apply it to your invoice.
Common questions
Licensing and Responsibility
The legal and technical side, in plain language.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Every plumber on the tools holds NSW plumbing licence #275278C, and we carry $20 million public liability insurance on every job. Our team also holds Master Plumber accreditation, so the workmanship is checked against a standard.
Do wipes really block drains?
Yes, wipes are a genuine problem, flushable label or not. They stay intact in the water, catch on rough joints and tree roots, and slowly build into a solid clog further down the line. Bin them instead of flushing and you remove that risk entirely.
What warranty do I get?
Our labour carries a lifetime warranty. If it's not right, we come back. No questions. No cost.
What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?
An overflow relief gully is a small grated fitting on your property, built to let sewage surface outside if the line further down blocks solid. It's designed to protect the inside of your home from a backed-up sewer, not to be a permanent drain point. If yours is overflowing, that's a sign the blockage needs clearing properly, not just topped up and ignored.
Common questions
How Fast We Get to You
Once you've decided to call, this is what happens.
Are you really open 24/7?
Yes, 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including weekends and public holidays. A licensed plumber answers the phone, day or night. Not an answering machine.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes, weekends and public holidays are treated the same as any other day. A blocked drain doesn't wait for Monday, so neither do we.
How do I book online?
Use the booking form on this site and pick a time that suits, or call (02) 9139 8009 if you'd rather talk it through first. Booking online also gets you $50 off the job.
How fast can you get here?
We guarantee a plumber at your door in 30 minutes once you've called. That promise holds across Artarmon and every surrounding suburb we cover, not a select few streets.
Common questions
Local Answers for Artarmon
A few questions we get specifically because we work this patch.
Do you know Artarmon's pipe stock?
Yes. The Federation and Californian bungalow homes through the conservation area still run original earthenware clay drainage from the 1910s to 1930s, which cracks at the joints with age. Newer builds near the station and industrial estate carry different pipe again, so we check what's actually in the ground rather than assume.
What suburbs do you service?
Artarmon and the surrounding suburbs, including Chatswood, St Leonards, Naremburn, Lane Cove and Willoughby. If you're near any of these and unsure, call (02) 9139 8009 and ask.
Why do Artarmon's older drains keep blocking?
A lot of it comes down to age and trees. The century-old clay pipes under the Federation streets crack at the joints, and mature street trees send roots straight into those cracks looking for water. Add a wet winter when older homes are running hard, and a marginal drain tips over into a full blockage.
How local are you, really?
We're in Artarmon and the surrounding suburbs on a regular run, not a one-off. Ask us about Burra Road or Artarmon Park, named after Ardthelmon (Artarmon) Castle, and we'll know exactly where you mean.
